Greetings Opponauts. I ran across this weird ... thing while running errands this afternoon.
Now, I’ve heard of “rollin’ coal” before, but the pipes come out the top. I have two questions:
Has anyone run across this before? Is this commercially-available, or just some welded frankenexhaust?
What purpose could it serve?
Any clues would be appreciated.

Serves no purpose other than to signal to other Bros that this bro also had a tiny wang

That would be the “My exhaust is too damn small. It must be the size of a basketball”

Stupid. It's just a sign of a small dick.

Yeah, you can buy them. No, they don’t make trucks any louder. Usually though, they are just mitered off DPF’s.

Lol, I only saw one on this truck, but I almost got hit by a damn Suburban while I was snapping this cell phone pic.
What is rice spotting?

DPFs? And what other purpose could they serve? I can’t imagine anyone looking at that and going “oh, yeah!”

Takes rolling coal to the next level

Downpipe Particulate Filter, it’s what keeps 2007/8 and up trucks from smoking. While this truck doesn’t have one because of it’s age, it’s pretty easy to find one cut off. They raise EGT’s, ruin fuel economy, lower reliability, and kill performance, so IMO as long as you aren’t dumping coal all the time in public, removing it is better than keeping it(flamesuit on). But the reason for the tip? To say theirs is bigger/Some people have poor taste.

This ^
Then just sit back and watch the show as the driver can't figure out why his truck won't start.

What purpose could it serve?
Well, he obviously has a small something else so he needs something bigger in his life

Compensating. Scrotums are probably illegal where this bloke lives.

My roommate has one like this but 5” all the way to the turbo

What diameter would you estimate that one is above? (You should take a pic!) :)

A group that spots rice (this truck isn’t what most people call rice), or really anything that’s generally distastefully modified. There’s been some really interesting stuff on there man....

Looks like a 9”. (We call them grow-dozers here in northern California ;-))

Shove a watermelon in it

Why waste a perfectly good watermelon ;)

I’m allergic to fresh fruit so no watermelon is good watermelon to me

Allergic to fresh fruit? Wow. That must suck. I love watermelon if it’s ripe. I’d probably go with a bowling ball or something instead , although it would be more expensive.

Yeah it’s a weird allergy, rare. I’m allergic to mold, and there’s natural occurring mold in fresh fruit. If I bake it, freeze it, or buy processed versions such as canned with preservatives and sugar in them, then I'm fine.
